I am a graduating product design student studying at the University of South Australia. Throughout my studies I have found particular interest in CAD and Prototyping stages of the design process and enjoy tinkering with prototypes and working back and forth with the finer details of a product in order to produce a part of the highest quality. I am driven by the opportunity to work on products that solve genuine issues rather than following trends and get satisfaction from seeing a product turn from an idea to sketches on a spare piece of paper to a physical product.
CAPSTONE PROJECT - Battery powered drill/driver
Brand: Fairphone Theme: Vehicle Care and Maintanance
This product is a battery powered drill/driver with multiple attachment capabilities designed specifically for smaller tasks that cannot be achieved using a regular screwdriver and where a traditional battery drill is inconvenient and bulky. The pivoting head and small light weight design allows for access into tight areas and makes usage more approachable for users of all skill levels. As per the brief the product styling follows that of Fairphone and is assembled in a way that allows the user to repair the product if broken or malfunctioning. The right to repair is a core value of Fairphone and was something I thought important to implement in the drill/driver.
