Hi I'm Michael, I’m currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Industrial Design at UniSA. My previous background in automotive design has fostered a deep understanding of 3D forms, interaction, and functionality, with a strong focus on user experience and attention to detail. Beyond essential skills required for industrial design, I am always exploring new techniques, including polygon modelling in Blender, parametric design using Houdini, and advanced visualisation methods. My design approach is driven by a passion for creating innovative solutions that seamlessly blend form, function, and user interaction.
The project, commissioned by SPARK Furniture, aims to design outdoor furniture while expanding the versatility of Glass Fiber-Reinforced Concrete (GRC). I developed two design directions, featuring a complete set including a tree bench and a pair of benches with a bin, utilising unique shapes that are unachievable with traditional metal and timber materials. In addition, the project includes extensive research on skate-stopper solutions and is finalised with photorealistic renderings to showcase the results.
