While currently working in the industry, I still wanted to expand my skillset and explore further challenges for myself. I have a strong passion in sketching, being hands on and being able to express my own personality within my work. This year has allowed me to gain insightful experience into working in the field while also being able to push my design skills to another level and create products that are effective and compelling.

The aim of this project was to provide the ageing population SCALABLE options to live independently as long as possible through the implementation of smart home technology.

However certain smart home technologies in terms of their usability, accessibility and potential added value bring up concerns when directed towards the ageing population. With current approaches inhibiting their potential towards building upon older people’s existing experiences and also not fully integrating within their daily life or routines.
