I returned to UniSA to complete a Graduate diploma in industrial design to build my design skills and portfolio. My year has been spent researching systems and experimenting with new materials. In the years coming I hope to make a contribution towards building a sustainable future.

The aim of this project was to research textile recycling methods and design a textile recycling system for Adelaide.

On average Australians are throwing away 23kg per person each year. This equates to over 800,000 tones of textile waste nationally each year. It is estimated that less then 10% of that waste is recycled.

For this project the focus was on textile waste recycling with textiles made from natural plant based fibers such as cotton, linen, hemp and bamboo.
