My name is Qiujie (Sam) Kong, and I am passionate about designing and with an emphasis on making objects. During my undergraduate and postgraduate years, I have worked on a wide range of interesting projects, and I am excited about the prospect of working on new and even more challenging projects in the future.

This year, we were given the challenge of designing 2 Recycling Hubs for The City of Adelaide Council. One Hub was to be installed in the City Library and the other in the foyer of the Customer Centre. The brief was to design a Hub for collecting objects that are traditionally difficult to recycle. The objects include: prescription glasses, light globes, bread tags, X-Rays, printer cartridges etc. After conducting some observational research, we began developing concepts and full-size prototypes. The final design was detailed, constructed, and commissioned in August this year. Based on the success of this project we are now developing a concept for a mobile version.
