My name is Shengkai Shao, a final year Industrial Design student at UNISA. My passion is concept sketching, developing product graphics and 3D CAD modelling.

My project this year was to design a Recycling Hub for the City of Adelaide Council to collect difficult to recycle objects. These objects include prescription glasses, X-Rays, light globes etc. After constructing various prototypes and doing some user testing, we completed the design and 2 units have since been constructed and installed in public locations around Adelaide City. Our next project was to develop a mobile version. This design needs to be a light-weight construction so that it can be towed behind an e-Bike. The image below shows one of the early concept sketches for the Recycling Hub and the other is a concept for the Mobile Hub.
